Unit 11 The Two receptive skills are reading and listening .We learnt that are two reasons and motives for reading and listening which is For purpose,it will help us achieve some particular aim or goal .For entertainment,it mostly for pleasurable or enjoyable.We learnt how to read or listen and that depened on their expertise in these area skils ; 1-Predictive Skills -Example... Guessing the content of a radio news report from the headline. 2-Specific information-Scanning-Example ...Looking through the horoscopes to find your star sign. 3-Genaral idea-skimming -Example...Quickly reading a scientific report to get the general idea. 4-Detaited information...Example...Listening to an audio CD for learning a new language. 5-Dedution from context..Smoking and Non Somking areas. We learnt problems with listening and reading and Language difficulty and its ways to approaching them which they are : Pre teaching Vocabulary Carful selection of texts We learnt about Topics,Greats intrest,Tasks and Outline of a typical recptive skills lesson( Patchwork) with an Example the life of Elivs Presley. I think this lesson is very superb and content a lot inforamtion which helps me personly to teach my students.
