In this lesson we learned about the ever important past tenses. We learned how to form the different tenses with past participles and different form of the helping verb (to be). We learned about the simple past tense in which normal verbs will take a -ed ending if the verb is irregular we would need to memorize it we would need to add a did not in front of the verb. The past continous has a was/were and a verb formed with -ing a not is used infront of the negative form. Past perfect was created by having a had before the verb which would add an \"ed\". The perfect past continous would be created by having a had been and verb with -ing. We learned about when these different tenses would be used The past simple is used for actions taking place once, never, several times. It can also be used for actions taking place one after another or in the middle of another action. Past continuous was used for emphasis on a course of action, two actions happening at the same time and something that happened at a certain time. Past perfect was used for actions that took place before a certain time in the past. while pp continous was used for emphasis on duration of an action taking place before a certain point.
