This unit on lesson planning really helped me review how to organize and structure the day-to-day teaching of my students. Likewise, it profoundly articulated an essential difference between teacher goals and learner outcomes. So as to say, the desired learning outcomes from the teacher may be quite different than what is achieved within any single day or lesson, for better or for worse. Additionally, this unit repeatedly highlighted the flexible nature of the classroom and therefore the need to fashion adaptable lesson plans for unforeseen circumstances. Needless to say, this was an important unit in describing and further clarifying the role of the teacher within her/his classroom.
