Watching the two lessons provided a contrast in quality teaching versus poor teaching. The teacher wasn't welcoming and didn't try to maintain student interest in the first lesson. In the second lesson, he set the tone by introducing himself, then learning the students' names. He used gestures and pictures to reinforce the lesson in a fun way. He allowed every student to participate, lauding them and gently correcting them when needed. He then ended the lesson on a high note with a group activity that helped to reiterate the lesson in a way that's memorable for the students. The teacher in the second video came in with a positive attitude, which led to positive academic results.
