From this unit, I learned about controlling classrooms in many appropriate ways. As a teacher, you must be able to show and inspire confidence and always stay positive. Being firm with students is a good thing, but being loud and yelling at a student when they are misbehaving is a bad thing. Losing control won't solve any problems within the classroom. I also learned to have good eye contact and establish rapport, which was said many times in the lesson. Knowing how to arrange a class properly is very important to maintain structure and to know when it is an appropriate time to let students talk and the teacher talk. This unit definitely helped me understand how to maintain discipline.
