Unit 9 showed the advantage and disadvantages of using course books and the two different types of lesson materials that teaches can us; authentic and creative. Authentic material is based on anything that the students can read, listen to and watch, where as creative materials are designed by the teacher to usually replace something from the course book. I learnt how to efficiently and effectively use a course book, enhancing interest to my students and focusing specifically on their needs even if the book doesn't. It is important to make sure you do not use the book too much and to make sure that the course content in relevant to your students.
