Before learning about all the different methodologies, I personally favoured the Communicative Language Teaching method based on my personal experience learning another language and private teaching lessons. My fluency in speaking Mandarin Chinese defaulted in correct grammar usage even though I had never formally learned the proper grammar structure for Mandarin Chinese. Many non-native speakers are easily discouraged by the parts of speech in unit 2 so they don't even try to experiment with the English language. As long as the student is willing to try and may communicate their thoughts and idea to others, then I think they did a great job!
