The focus of Unit 2, was on learning and development theories and teaching methodologies. We looked at four major learning and behavior theories. We also looked at second language acquisition and designing a syllabus for young learners. The age group of 5 to 13 for young learners, was divided into two groups and a different methodology used for each group. The ESA system was used for both groups. We looked at the learning environment and classroom arrangement, the teacher's position and students interaction. We learnt about productive and receptive skills, as well as maturation and the students' ability to grasp concrete concepts and theories.
