In this unit we look at how to deliver new vocabulary, grammar and other language concepts effectively in the classroom. Four things students need to do with new language : be exposed to it ,understand its meaning, understand how its constructed and be able to practice and produce it. Vocabulary is very important for the students in the early age as it motivates them to learn basic words and get them in use in the language. ? Is the vocabulary really appropriate for the students and their current language level? ? Is the vocabulary really appropriate for the task in view? ? Frequency and coverage i.e. how often students are likely to use or come across the language in their daily communications in different situations. ? How simple the language can be taught especially for beginners. Every student learning new language need to be know the following: ? The student needs to know the meaning of the item. ? How and when is it good to use without errors. ? Word grammar ? where the grammar in context can fit in. ? Interaction ? how it blends and affects other words. ? Pronunciation ? how the word is being spoken . ? Spelling ? how the language written ? The new language we introduce largely depend on the level of the class and the course syllabus we are using for this the students need to know the following grammatical structures. ? How and when the language is to be used. ? The pattern the language takes, and its formation. ? Students need to know how the language is spoken and written. ? The students needs to know the meaning of the language. An effective teacher will think about which structure is most appropriate to the class and the language that will be introduced, and for this there are many ESA lessons and structures used to make the lesson more effective and meaningful eg: ?straight arrow?, ?Boomerang or Patchwork? ESA structure.
