This unit encompasses the different traits of a good teacher and a good learner along with teacher roles, learner levels, and the different learning ages. A good teacher is a teacher that cares about her teaching, but cares about her students' learning even more. A lesson can be student or teacher centered. The teacher has many roles in a lesson which include being a manager, organizer, assessor, prompter, participant, tutor, facilitator, model, and observer. In order for a student to succeed he/she must be willing to listen and experiment, ask questions, accept error corrections, and have the desire to learn. Moreover, every learning stage varies. Young learners of 7 years or less are usually motivated, have a short attention spam, and need more fun games, singing, and drawing in the classroom. Ages 8-12 are still motivated and receptive to new sounds, words, and concepts. Ages from 13 and above are usually less motivated, more self-conscious, and unwilling to risk asking a question or experimenting. It is also very important to know where the students come from and their cultures to understand how they socially behave since this could hinder their learning process. In levels of learning, the low-leveled students' success is easy to track, they don't ask complicated questions regarding the lesson, and teachers rely mainly on visuals. Unfortunately, there could be a restriction in using the language and communicating. Mid-leveled students' success can be difficult to measure, they are motivated, communication is easy and basic on various topics, but ingrained mistakes are difficult to erase. High-leveled students are highly motivated and independent, have a vast array of knowledge in the language, but might get the feeling of boredom or plateau. In that case, encouragement and motivation from the teacher is required for self-learning. Lastly, a teacher should always try and make her lesson as enjoyable, interesting, and useful as possible to ensure the success of his/her learners.
