This unit went over the \"after-training\" reality of teaching Business English. With that said, this unit went over things that you should know before entering/teaching in a foreign country, what to ask when in a job interview, and how to prepare a cover letter and resume. I found this unit extremely helpful, as I am currently a 22 year old student in my last year of Teacher's College (B.Ed). I have student teaching experience and will be embarking on an English Language Teaching internship in Germany this winter and next spring, but I have not yet been introduced to how to make a cover letter and resume. Thus, when reading through this unit, I was extremely appreciative of the clarity and tips that it has provided me. This unit gave examples of cover letters and resumes, highlighting the importance of what information to contain in such documents and the order that they should be in. Additionally this unit provided several websites with job search databases, another thing that I was excited about and grateful of receiving. This unit also went over additional/further training courses for English Language and Business English teachers, what the best ways are to find employment, and what to ask before accepting a contract/job. Furthermore, this unit went over business etiquette, emphasizing the importance of researching the country you will be attending prior to walking in the classroom to avoid any cultural conflicts. It was advised to not use sarcasm, to remain professional in your speech and interactions until you are comfortable and familiar with the proper formality of the cultural, to never state your political opinion, and to not make comments about people from your organization who are not there. The site, \"http://www.cyborlink.com/\" is a very useful and informative tool to help teachers going abroad gain an understanding of the cultural they will be immersing themselves in. As an individual who loves experiencing and learning about new cultures (and sharing my own), I found this site very interesting and the possibility of hopefully gaining a job abroad very exciting. Lastly, this unit provided an extensive webliography of contacts that will be helpful when its time to search for a job.
