This unit is talking about the theories, methods and techniques in teaching English language. The methodologies. Study: students are expected to focus on the language be constructive. - Activate: students here are encouraged to use all the language that they know. All these techniques used by a teacher are called Elicitation which is described as strategies. Some examples include; -Real objects -Ask for the question -Gap fill -flash cards -mime -concept description -drawings -list -definitions -follow up on questions Some examples of ESA lessons include; -straight Arrow lesson; that is Engage-Study-Activate. -boomerange; sequencing of the lesson here gives us more possibilities-Engage-Active study-Activate. Conclusively,I have learnt the different stages, techniques implemented and the relevant occasions for correction and when it can be made.
