This unit explained the procedure for planning lessons. Proceeding through the unit made me realise that there is a lot more to planning lessons than I had perhaps envisaged. I can now see how it is important both for the student and the teacher. For the student, so that the lesson can be appropriately targeted towards their ability and for them to have a clear sequence to follow, and for the teacher for them to be able to analyse and improve on lessons performed. I can see that for a new teacher in Asian countries (where I hope to teach), a strong lesson plan would be important, as students in this region tend to follow the teacher rather than be more outgoing as in western countries.
