Methods taught here a very different to what I am used to and I struggle a bit to understand. As a former Technical Trainer I am used to introducing a subject, say an oil well, and illustrate the various components with a description. This lesson has reinforced my opinion on engagement as being a valuable tool. I arrived at engagement independently and I would as the class on things which had nothing to do with the subject of the day. I would punctuate my lessons with anecdotes, 30 second funny videos and jokes etc as I believe that a person will remember a situation which well help in recalling the lesson point. A picture, situation or memory is more easily recalled than text on a page.
