Lesson planning is one of the most challenging aspects of teaching. It is important to have a relatively specific yet also general overview of the class. It is also important to remain flexible. Flexibility relates to getting to know the dynamics of each class. This is key. Much of teaching requires teachers to get outside of their comfort zone. Some are more rigid than others, while some are a bit too flexible, tending toward greater incoherence. Lastly, I believe it is important for the instructor to articulate learning objects for their students. This should not be a surprise; it should not be kept from students. Learning objects are the targets, the focal point for students.
