This was an excellent section for highlighting what tests my new students may be ultimately studying for even as they start out on a beginner's level. The information on the series of Cambridge Assessment exams and the myriad of exams offered by the other organizations, helped me recognize the different motivations that every student brings to the classroom. Some students may just want every day functional language skills that make their lives more fluid, while other students may desire to to take the TOEFL and study at an English speaking university. it's helpful to know what the possible \"end game\" is for different categories of ESL students.
