This unit provided information about the use of various tests for students of English. A student might take a placement test before beginning a course so that the teacher can determine the student's level of grammar, vocabulary, and fluency, and place them in the appropriate level class. Progress tests are used throughout a course to determine what language has been remembered, and should include reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. External examinations, such as the Test of English as a Foreign Language test, test grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and listening. This test gives a final score which indicates the students' level.
