I believe one of the most important facets of teaching is the relationship between students and teachers, therefore establishing a rapport is essential to be an effective teacher. This may,however, take on different forms and take various amounts of time depending on the students and teachers personalities. While it may take longer with some students, teachers should always make the effort to establish a good relationship between themselves and the students. Rapport is also important between the students themselves, so teachers also need to facilitate this rapport and encourage a class of mutual respect and create a positive learning environment.
