This unit covered the different types of classes one might come across in English language teaching. I learned that there are different categories of ?beginners? with varying skills, proficiency and motivation levels. This unit also looked at teaching individuals, teaching bigger classes, teaching children versus adults, as well as teaching English for specific purposes, for instance, teaching business people where a ?Needs Analysis? is helpful in planning the course. The strategies and activities put forth, along with the do?s and don?ts provided for teaching these specialized groups were very useful and insightful.
