Having more resources to make class material is always welcome and reviewing what a textbook is good for and not good for is very important to me since my experience teaching english is very much based on a textbook. It is important to realize that a textbook is not the source of all class activities and learning. I completely agree that the text book can usually be supplemented with more creative and specific to the class needs. I have never considered using 'authentic materials' but after reading about it, I really like the idea of giving students a real english document with real world applications to increase motivation and interest in english.
