This unit covered the basics of what a good teacher is (and what roles they should fulfill), what a good learner is, the different levels of language awareness, and how adult and young learners differ when acquiring a new language. After covering this unit, I believe I have a more thorough understanding of what my (the teacher's) responsibilities will be and how empathetic I should be towards my students and understanding their backgrounds. My students will be from different cultures and, possibly, all different ages, and I should surely keep that all in mind while creating activities and lessons for my classes. This was a great start to my course.
