This unit covered what makes a good teacher, what makes a good learner, the types of teachers there are, The roles that a teacher will have, the levels of learning a student can or will be at and why students are motivated to learn English. A teacher should be kind and patient, love teaching, lively and entertaining, and have good subject knowledge, amongst other traits. Some roles a teacher may have are as manager/controller, organizer, assessor, prompter and facilitator. A good learner should have a willingness to listen to the language, a desire to experiment, a willingness to ask questions, a desire to learn and an acceptance of error correction.
