This unit covered teaching Themes to students. First this unit explained Case Studies and how to use them as a tool. Case studies have 8 steps to complete them beginning with Introducing and giving the background of the topic, and ending with debriefing and correcting the students.Second this unit explained Framework and Problem Based Learning. Frameworks have three different steps beginning with the Input step, followed by the Process step, and concluded with the Output step. Third this unit explained adapting Games to the classroom and Computer Aided Language Learning. Games can be adapted to your lesson quite easily, and the Internet is always a good source for lesson development. Forth this unit explained Speech Act Therapy and gave samples of Lesson Plans and Materials for them. Speech Act Therapy is divided into four stages, the first is the Utterance stage, the second is the Propositional Utterance stage, the third is the Illocutionary Utterance stage, and the fourth is the Perlocutionary Utterance stage. In conclusion, I have learned that your lesson should be fully planned out before adapting a game to fit the plan, and not the other way around. I have also learned that Case Studies are an incredibly valuable resource.
