I found that monitoring student exercises to be very clever. For example, if I want to learn about the students' interests, I would have a questionnaire for students to ask one another. I would walk around the class and make note of some of the hobbies and interests students like. Then I can tailor the lessons to the students' interests. This unit mentioned using a tape recorder to have the students say what they want to learn. I really like this idea because some students are not as confident as others and may feel uncomfortable expressing what they want to learn in front of the entire class. The tape recorder would give them the opportunity to still express what they want to learn without the fear of being judged by peers. For large classrooms, I will adopt the idea of group leaders. This reduces the burden on me as a teacher to ensure all students are doing their work. Having \"little leaders\" will help me by having other students be responsible for small groups of students. Another problem that may occur in large classrooms is having students finish individual work more quickly than others. The idea of word searches and other fun activities for the students to work on is a great solution for students who finish their work quickly.
