In covering the theories generally accepted for teaching students, I can see myself in a reflective light; I know how I typically construct my lessons, what formats work, and what patterns can produce tedium. However many other sessions I've had to expand my repertoire as a teacher, it's always interesting to see it from a different perspective. But, having seen it from so many perspectives, I find that most approaches to teaching in terms of pattern (ESA, often replaced with other acronyms) to be pejoratively the same. In terms of theories for language acquisition, I find some of them to be completely outlandish while others I think are sorely underutilized. Alas, to each his/her own.
