Clearly, the teacher employed a more engaging attitude in the second video compared to the first. Smiles and pantomime both drew the students into a participatory mood as well as clarified some of the vocabulary he was introducing. He even thanked students for their correct answers. In this respect, the teaching methods are clear: draw the students into the lesson by presenting a warm, friendly demeanor to win their confidence; reinforce their participation with courteous praise, but never shame them or treat them dismissively. The one thing that disappointed me was that the teacher never transitioned the lesson from animals to personal pronouns. That would have expanded the grammar lesson.
