This unit covered classroom management, and how effectively the teacher can use their presence and voice to further create a more conducive learning atmosphere. From this unit, I also learned about the different ways of grouping students together for activities, and why certain groupings are more effective for certain activities (e.g. students working in pairs to work on a dialogue vs. a group of six on a two-person dialogue). Also covered in this unit was how to manage unruly classroom behavior, which I thought was useful. As an ALT I am not expected to discipline any disruptive students, but it was helpful to know how help prevent unwanted behavior in my classes before they got out of hand.
