In this small unit, we are exposed to the different types of course material that we as teachers can utilize for our students such as authentic and created materials, and a course book. Each have their own advantages and disadvantages such as teacher provided materials being more catered to the specific needs of the students and often more engaging, but also requiring much more time to organize lesson plans and materials, whereas the course book offers a predefined and well constructed curriculum for the teacher, but is often uninspiring and not catered to the specific needs of the students. We are also shown different ways to utilize each said material and what to look for when choosing them.
