This was a great unit because it visually demonstrated how a great classroom should be in comparison to a not so great classroom. The teacher and student reaction was much better and the use of visuals and gestures was amazing in the second compared to the dull focus on grammar in the first. The same lesson material was covered, but in the way it was covered was much better. Also the simple fact that he was able to expand and use more useful target language in the second video is much better. Talking only about grammar in the L2 will not expand the students vocabulary as much as talking through the grammar with more meaningful vocabulary which with further the students use and contact with the L2.
