Previously, I hadn?t thought of the possibility of breaking up lessons into the various sections in this unit (i.e. vocabulary, grammatical structure) but for the sake of not overwhelming future students, I see the benefits of being able to break down and create structured lessons for each. Having focused, targeted lessons by taking into how the new language may be similar to the student?s own language, or the similarity to English words already known, benefits the students as they are able to build both their receptive and productive vocabularies. I can especially great creativity being utilised in the Engage, Study, and Activate planning phases to make lessons as interactive as possible.
