This unit on tests provided a great amount of info about the different types of proficiency tests students can take in order to be certified for a specific thing. For example if they are applying to a university it'll be best for them to take either the TOEIC, TOEFL, or IELTS tests because those are recognized evaluations for enrollment. It also helps to know what tests students may plan to take, so a teacher can tailor lessons and create practice tests to help fulfill the requirement of the test. Diagnostic tests are helpful at the beginning/start of a class so a teacher can identify the levels of the students. Knowing the levels of the students makes it easier to tailor activities to their skills.
