This unit goes over evaluation and testing of students. This unit is broken down to the various types of tests. The unit also gives a great explanation of what each test does and when it should be used, like placement and diagnostic tests should be done at the beginning of a class, progress tests during the class, and practice tests before students take an external exam. What I learned most from this test is the various external exams that are used to test ESL students. Before reading this unit, I knew of TOEFL and IELTS. This unit informed me of TOEIC and the very extensive Cambridge Assessment. I can see the advantages and disadvantages of each one and with this new knowledge I can better direct any students to whichever external test best suits their plans.
