This unit is perhaps the most dated of the bunch with references to tape recorders and even, unfortunately, DVDs and CDs. However, it brings up a few legitimate points that teachers must consider when it comes to their teaching resources. Technology may fail, take tons of training to use, etc, but it is also useful in keeping students' attention and engaging them with real examples of language use. Each bit of technology, whether an OHP, smart board, even a simple blackboard, requires its own method of planning to make sure that the lesson will function smoothly. (Just a comment-- many of the links in this unit are outdated and no longer function as the domain they are intended to! An update of the list may be needed so that teachers can have an updated source.)
