Authentic materials are not designed for EFL students, they are not graded for level and are used for a real purpose in the classroom. Non-authentic materials are used for EFL students, they are graded for level. We need to have a lesson plan in order to record it, refer to it during the lesson and what to expect form students to achieve. A lesson plan for elementary level should include Engage phase and Activate phase. using a course book doesn't mean to use it for the whole lesson, sometimes need to supplement, adapt or replace, match the book with student's needs. In order to have a good atmosphere and to be respected a teacher should respect the students, not shout, make threats, be fair, not change the class rules continuously and should not lose his/her temper.
