I have learned that teaching writing can be difficult, and I was shocked to discover that many EFL teachers may not emphasize teaching writing skills. Writing skills and speaking skills are both equally important. I liked learning the difference between accuracy and fluency. Accuracy is focused more on the correct use of a language while fluency is focused on the flow of a language. It is important to keep this in mind because some activities will be more focused on accuracy while some activities will be more focused on fluency. An example of an activity with a focus on accuracy is drilling, while an example of an activity with a focus on fluency is a discussion. During a creative speaking activity it is important to not over correct and to not make instant corrections.
