In this unit, we learned about the process of developing a course from the very first meeting down to end of the course assessment of students and course evaluations. When we meet our students for the first time we should make an assessment of what they know and what they need to know to be able to design a course that will suit the needs of our students. We learned the different level scales in which we could classify our students. After grouping our students, the next step is to perform the needs analysis. This is very important because this gives us an idea of the students previous learning experience, why they need English for and what they feel the most beneficial areas for them to study. After performing all these, we are now ready to design a syllabus for our students.
