In this unit I learned how to choose materials for teaching and its advantages and disadvantages. Now I understand why and how a teacher and student can get lazy and bored and not use creative skills as much, especially when relying too much on the book and thinking it is the only solution. Authentic materials are as important as created one but it all depends on the needs of the student. Created materials are easier to adapt to the students needs but it is also possible to do this with authentic material as it holds more realistic and down to earth information for the student. Teachers need to teach them how to use authentic information correctly.
