As someone who does not know the exact type of population I will be teaching yet, this unit was extremely useful as it highlighted the specific struggles and unique benefits of teaching special or specific groups English, including beginners, individuals, young students, and business professionals. Having placed preference on primary school placements during my time abroad, this section was particularly useful to me. Strategies for dealing with the attention span, confidence, and energy of children are useful to keep in mind, while also bearing in mind the techniques outlined for dealing with any disciplinary problems children may have at a young age.
