There are many different tools available to teachers and it's important to structure class time with a variety of activities and teaching methods. I liked how this unit listed some advantages and disadvantages for the most common teaching aids. As the material suggests, not all tools will be available in all circumstances (and even if they are, some may not be best suited for the lesson) so it is important for the teacher to use what is available and most effective/appropriate. Regardless of what tools are being used, the teacher must take the time to learn how to use the tool and to prepare, practice, and plan a backup all prior to giving a lesson.
