This unit deals with another aspect of the English grammar: modals, phrasal verbs, relative clauses, and the passive voice. The different modal auxiliary verbs were enumerated and their uses and grammatical structures were stipulated. Active and passive voices were differentiated based on the formation of the verbs since the tense in both remains the same. Relative clauses were also discussed and differentiated from the other 2 clauses (independent and dependent), and examples were given. Lastly, phrasal verbs and the three basic types of phrasal verbs were stipulated. Usage and teaching ideas for modal auxiliary verbs and the passive voice were given.
