While I am a native English speaker, taking a refresher course of how parts of a sentence works is always helpful. It took me back to elementary school when teachers taught this to us through songs and games, something that I thought was silly at the time but that I now realize is probably why I'm a better writer. Remembering that will help me prepare for the future of teaching students and be able to communicate to them the importance of structure. This course instills how difficult English is to learn as a foreign language since there are so many irregularities, exceptions and just parts that are considered extra. That makes it more difficult to teach.
