Lesson planning seems crucial to a well-organized and effective lesson (besides giving the teacher the security of knowing what to do next, a sense of timing, and a record of what has been taught and when.) However, this unit emphasizes that the ability of the teacher to stay in the now and to recognize shifting interests and opportunities for teaching is the mark of a truly creative and effective teacher. This was an \"activate\" phase of this course, with an opportunity to use the lesson plan form, the sample lesson plan, and what we previously learned in Unit 3 to devise an actual lesson plan. It was a challenge, making me anxious to continue learning.
