As English is also my second language I learned a lot in this unit.Grammar and spelling are the reason I took up this course. Even though my level of grammar understanding and part of speech did include subject, object, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions and pronouns it is the word en meaning of verb +ing to form \"gerunds\"( which must not be mistaken by the present participle and take the form of a noun), that is totally new to me.I brushed up on the countable and uncountable nouns and its implication to many/much, little /few.This is something that does not come naturally for ESL people. Also new was not so much the substance but wording of comparatives and superlatives, definite and indefinite articles. Zero articles. Changing of the verb form eg. occur- occurring. Stress on the back sound so consonant r double. I still struggle with this.Words like auxiliary verb were new.Confusion cleared between possessive pronouns(replace the noun) and possessive adjectives(describe the noun), especially when it comes to his and its. Lastly the \"y\"sound for Europe and the influence it has on articles were new to me. I would always say an university or an European. No, I have learned a lot in this unit. It took me more than tripple the time to digest than the previous unit.
