I learned through the unit that there are eight parts of speech as follow: 1-noun 2- adjective 3- article 4- verb 5- adverb 6- gerunds 7- pronouns 8- prepositions/conjunctions I also learned about different kinds of nouns and adjectives that nouns could be countable or uncountable. Adjectives could be comparative or superlative. In addition , I learned about different articles such as definite and indefinite articles. I learned about Zero article used with nouns referring to something in a general sense; we use no articles to refer to something in a general. Regarding verbs, I learned that there are two kinds of verbs transitive and intransitive verbs. I learned about verb forms that are Base form, Past Simple, Past participle, Present participle. About adverbs, I learned that there are five types of adverbs: manner, place, time degree, and frequency. I learned that a gerund is the ?ing form of a verb used as a noun (as opposed to the present participle which is the ?ing form as a verb structure). A gerund is used in the same way as a noun, i.e. as a subject or an object. I also learned that a Gerund can be a noun /an object/ or a subject. Furthermore, I learned that Conjunctions can do two things : join words of the same class or join clauses of sentences
