Unit 20 was all about troubleshooting and common problem solving. For the first lessons that a teacher would give, there are normally two categories of classes. Warmers could be used to get the class motivated before a lesson. These include hangman, pictionary, tongue twisters and memory games. When you come across different levels of the English language between the students, it is advisable to use different materials, or maybe using the same materials but having different tasks. Sometimes its also possible to do nothing about it, and let the students work and put in the effort. But pairing stronger students with weaker ones are also good teaching advice. During a teachers career, there might come a time to teach to large classes. This could mean large classrooms, therefore it is always good to make sure of the clarity of the lesson. Worksheets can be used as well as doing choral repetition. The teacher could ever more do pair and group work activities also then appointing group leaders. When it comes to the use of native language, the teacher should always encourage The students to speak English where appropriate, even if it is not gramatically correct. Although, make sure that the activities used are at the appropriate level of the class. Make sure the explanations are clear to all students. As the teacher, you should always respond in English and constantly remind the students. Like explained in a previous unit, but there will always be reluctant students. For this to not be a problem, do a lot of pair word, use controlled practice on the language, use a tape recorder and do role-play activities.
