Evaluation/testing is the focus of this Unit. Evaluating students touches on need for tutorials, evaluation by students themselves, and tests. The tests discussed are: placement (sample provided), progress, diagnostic, practice, general external (TOELF, TOEIC), Cambridge Assessment (General English - KET, PET, FCE, CPE), Skills for Life and Business English (BEC, BULATS).I have learned in this lesson that when it comes to vocabulary and grammatical structure all students need to know the meaning, how it is used, and how to pronounce and write it. That you don't have to use the same structure in every lesson. If a student is having problems comprehending new vocabulary it could be that it is not similar to words used in their native language.
