This unit covered a lot of areas which one would feel represent a degree of common sense but need to be highlighted anyway. The potential differences in the classroom environment and the different teaching priorities when teaching either beginners or children was important to understand. Also the advantages of either a multilingual or a monolingual class were interesting to note.It is important to be able to help the students understand how to change the sentence that they use depending on tense and person. This unit helped me to be able to see everyday rules that I unconsciously follow with ever realising them because I am a native speaker. But now I realise the rules involved and I feel that I can confidently teach them to English students effectively.
