This unit covers the different sorts of tests that are used in TEFL. Tests can be used at the beginning of the year to evaluate students' strengths and weaknesses, as the course progresses to evaluate how well they are learning, and at the end to show them what they have achieved. Furthermore, there are external tests that are created by outside bodies to evaluate whether or not students can qualify for English-speaking countries. I like creating, preparing for, and marking tests, so I enjoyed this unit a little more than normal. However, from what I've heard, placement tests are often skipped, as classes are created by administrators, not teachers. Too bad.
