The current unit provides two videos comparing and contrasting effective and ineffective teaching methods. The first video demonstrates a teaching method that is ineffective, intimidating to students, and does not promote a student-centered learning environment. The second lesson shows an effective and fun learning environment where students are actively participating and learning.This unit focused on methods of teaching specific aspects of the English language, namely vocabulary and new words, grammatical structures and various language functions. Ideas for various Engage, Study and Activate stage activities were presented. For each of the three concepts that need tk be teached, I learned the main goals of what the student needs to know to comprehend them.
