This unit discussed the main points about learning speaking and writing skills. The learning points and issues faced when practicing speaking are very different from that of writing- for example in speaking activities students may become nervous or afraid to speak infront of the class for fear of mistakes while writing activities allow more time for the student to think and process languageUnit 15 introduces the subject of evaluation and testing. We can categorize exams depending on their \"purpose\" in class: placement, diagnostic, progress, or practice for external exams. Both Britain and the US have sets of examinations that are Internationally recognized, and measure a student's level of English in all four areas of the language (Speaking, Listening, Writing and Reading).
